My career started in IBM mid-range systems at a start-up shipping container terminal facility in the Port of Los Angeles. From hardware and software operations and programming to technical support, my "Learn-by-Doing" Cal Poly education was invaluable.
Two years later, the company expanded with the new construction of a state-of-the-art terminal in the Port of Oakland. As the systems manager, my direct work with architects, a team of engineers, and construction crews ensured the systems requirements and network growth potential were met. Additionally, I managed the implementation of new technology projects and corporate hardware and software procurement, contract and lease negotiations, all communications systems and supported systems operations at the Port of Seattle site while based in Oakland.
Stepping down from corporate life and motivated by an entrepreneurial spirit, LaniStudio LLC was started to provide consulting services for small business and organizations to address website design and development, technical business support, print, social media, and email marketing, as well as project management services. The goal is simple - provide friendly, honest, and personalized service with integrity.
Tennis, textile crafts, outdoor adventures and on-going personal growth are life-long pursuits that continue to keep the work-life balance. I am also a passionate fan of the San Francisco Giants and San Jose Sharks and enjoy the competition of go-kart racing (racer name: "Lanica") and fantasy football.
